From Dire to Bleak: The Outlook for Bonds in the Wake of COVID-19 OD

In this webinar, Marc Odo, CFA®, FRM, CAIA, CIPM, CFP® will revisit the trends and concerns raised a year ago in his Bleak Future of Bonds (white paper) and explore how they have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. He will outline the dangerous impact of the stimulus on bond markets, how the fiscal outlook is making it worse, and most importantly how this threatens the roles bonds have played in portfolios and financial plans historically. Marc will conclude with practical insights for financial planners to address portfolio allocation and planning challenges going forward.

  • Participants will learn about the use of options to create portfolio or position hedging, specifically hedged equity, for investment risk management purposes
