Self-study exam based on a thorough understanding of articles that include the topics of: Intra-family and other business transfer techniques; Planning for divorce, unmarried couples and other special circumstances; Planning for special needs and circumstances; Property titling and beneficiary designations; Estate and incapacity planning documents; and Postmortem estate planning techniques.

After reading and understanding the two articles required for this exam, the planner will: • Understand the difficulties present when planning estates with blended families. • Learn techniques for handling client conflicts when there is an unequal estate plan for children from previous marriages. • Understand the complexities involved when a client gets divorced and their estate plans must be updates. • Understand the implications of how an estate plan will be effected if a client passes during a divorce.
