Self-study exam based on a thorough understanding of articles that include the topics of: Client and planner attitudes, values, biases; General principles of effective communication; and Social Security and Medicare planning.

After reading and understanding the two articles required for this exam, the planner will:

• Understand how different races might approach the topics of finances separately.
• Understand how to reach more black households, who might not traditionally use a planner.
• Understand the struggles a divorcing client will go through and how to provide guidance.
• Understand options and limitations to collecting Social Security benefits off an ex’s work history after divorce.
