Self-study exam based on a thorough understanding of articles that include the topics of: Quantitative investment concepts and measures of investment returns; Asset allocation and portfolio diversification; Portfolio development and analysis; Client and planner attitudes, values, biases; Behavioral finance; General principles of effective communication; and Tax reduction/management techniques.
After reading and understanding the three articles required for this exam, the planner will:
● Understand how the financialization of commodity markets has eroded their efficacy in hedging a portfolio.
● Understand how clients might resist properly diversifying their portfolio, and strategies for addressing that.
● Understand how various methods of direct indexing can benefit clients via tax-loss harvesting.
