Self-study exam based on a thorough understanding of articles that include the topics of: Client and planner attitudes, values, biases; Sources of money conflict; Financial services regulations and requirements; Consumer protection laws; Fiduciary standard and application; Income tax fundamentals and calculations; Tax reduction/management techniques; Tax implications of special circumstances; Education needs analysis; and General principles of effective communication.
After reading and understanding the five articles required for this exam, the planner will:
• Understand how personal financial salience can attribute to higher financial satisfaction and retirement security.
• Gain an overview of SEC regulations and how planners and firms can avoid breaking the law.
• Understand whether delaying RMDs from TDAs if RMD age gets pushed back is the most advantageous strategy.
• Understand the struggles first-gen college students have and how the professions can assist them.
• Create effective presentations to persuade clients to properly diversify their portfolios.
