Self-study exam based on a thorough understanding of articles that include the topics of: Fundamental and current tax law; Income tax fundamentals and calculations; Tax reduction/management techniques; Tax implications of special circumstances; Principles of risk and insurance; Long-term care insurance and long-term case planning (individual and group); and Insurance needs analysis.


 After reading and understanding the two articles required for this exam, the planner will:

  • Understand how tax-saving measures from Roth conversions may take decade to be realized.
  • Understand several cases where Roth conversions are recommended and several cases where conversions are ill-advised.
  • Understand the various options for long-term care and how clients need to be ready for someone else to make decisions.
