Brought to you by the PridePlanners Knowledge Circle; Guest speaker Angela Giampolo will lead an engaging and practical session focused on the critical role estate planning plays in protecting LGBTQ individuals, couples, and families. Drawing on nearly two decades of experience serving the LGBTQ+ community through Giampolo Law Group, Angela will walk attendees through the unique legal and planning challenges that LGBTQ clients often face, including relationship recognition, chosen family dynamics, parental rights, healthcare decision-making, inheritance planning, and legacy protection.

The session will highlight why traditional estate planning assumptions often fall short for LGBTQ clients and how advisors can help clients proactively address gaps before a crisis occurs. Angela will discuss core planning documents, common pitfalls, and real-world examples that demonstrate how thoughtful estate planning can affirm a client’s relationships, protect their wishes, and preserve their assets for the people and causes they care about most. The session is designed to equip advisors with greater awareness, practical language, and actionable strategies so they can better support LGBTQ clients in building estate plans that are legally sound, inclusive, and deeply personal.
