Please join us for the September FPA DEI Learning Series call presented by the FPA Latino Knowledge Circle.
For Hispanic Heritage Month we invite FPA members to share about their experience with Latino clients. We’ll celebrate what makes our communidad unique, how to best serve it, and what changes the financial services industry needs to make. This conversation is evaluating our services from the Latino client’s perspective.
This will be a facilitated community conversation to best prepare us to serve the Latino community!
- What innovative ways are you using to serve a market that’s traditionally been left out of financial planning?
- What are your Latino clients saying that they are lacking when it comes to financial planning services?
- How are your clients doing when it comes to implementing your advice? What can we as an industry do better to service Latino Clients?
- What nuances do you see when working with Latino clients compared to the general public?
- What are your favorite experiences of serving the Latino community?

Diana Yáñez, MA, CFP®, RLP®
Financial Educator and Empowerment Coach
All the Colors
As a financial educator and empowerment coach at All the Colors, my love of numbers and desire to see others flourish dance to the same beat. While my technical skills will help clients quickly navigate financial questions, it’s my ability to empower them that transforms their relationship with money.
I earned a BA in Economics and International Studies and and MA in Demographics and Social Analysis at the University of California, Irvine. Before finding my calling as a financial planner and coach I worked in social services, population projections, and business analysis at a manufacturing company. In financial planning I've found the perfect fit between complex analysis and meaningful contributions to other’s lives.

Maria Castillo Dominguez, MS, CFP®
Valoria Wealth Management
My name is Maria Castillo Dominguez, and I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®.
To understand who I am and how I got here, it is best to explain where I come from. I was born and raised in a small town in the south of Spain named Ronda. I was the middle child of a very humble family, and the first person in my family to pursue a college degree. At age 26, I moved to the US by myself with $400 in my pocket and a heart full of hopes and dreams.
Since 2012, I have been making my way in the financial services industry in the US gaining invaluable experience working with both large and small investment and financial planning firms. I currently serve in the Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association of Miami. I also lead a local chapter in Miami for a national professional organization for seasoned law and finance professional leaders, and I am part of several organizations for professional women.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and have spoken at prestigious institutions like the University of California. I've been featured on media outlets, such as CNBC, CNN, and CBS News. I have also presented at leading conferences and events like the Wealth Management EDGE conference and the Financial Planning Association. My contributions to the field were also recognized in the book "So You Want to Be a Financial Planner” and I was recently honored as a 40 under 40 young leader in the financial advice industry by Investments News.
13 years after my arrival to the US, and with over 10 years of personal financial planning experience in my back, I am taking the next step and founding my own financial planning practice!
I currently live in Cooper City, FL, with my husband, Aby, and our dog, Lola. I meet with clients virtually, and you will find me working from the comfort of my home, attending networking events with other powerful women across the country or traveling the world and having fun experiences with my husband. I have designed my work life to fit my lifestyle, and I want the same for you!
I am a career driven woman, and while I love working and having a career, I also love my time with my family, friends and enjoying my personal freedom. I live a life where I set the rules, I manage my time, and I am free to be me and I have a passion for servicing professional women who, just like me, want to live a full life in their own terms.
